David Gay has released version 1.2.8 of the nesC compiler. It includes several new features and incorporates a few bug fixes. The TinyOS install and upgrade instructions point to the proper RPMs. Currently only one Cygwin RPM is available; we will be generating the alternative Cygwin RPM and updating the web pages accordingly in the next few days.

The TinyOS Alliance is happy to announce the release of TinyOS 2.0 (T2). T2 provides many advantages over earlier versions of TinyOS, including integrated power and resource management, greatly improved robustness, and a redesign of many core interfaces and abstractions in order to simplify programming. Improvements over prior beta releases include complete storage implementations for common platforms, significantly improved network protocol implementations, a redesigned and optimized resource management architecture, and an experimental low-power CC2420 radio stack.

TinyOS Programming Manual
By pal, Section TinyOS Releases Thu Apr 27th, 2006 at 06:43:10 PM PST
As part of the beta release of TinyOS 2.0 at TTX3, I wrote a TinyOS programming manual.
Some of the latter chapters of the book deal with newer features of nesC (1.2) that TinyOS 2.0 takes advantage of, but the earlier chapters are very applicable to 1.x. Almost all of the programming examples are taken from the TinyOS 2.0 source. I'm going to hopefully be doing a few updates in the next month or so based on some feedback readers have given, and I encourage additional feedback. I hope you find it useful!
