On behalf of the entire TinyOS 2.0 Working Group, I am pleased to announce TinyOS 2.0 PreRelease2.
PreRelease2 features two new platforms, TelosB/TmoteSky and MicaZ, plus microcontroller power management interfaces and other features.
|
| TinyOS 2.0 has been designed by a working group comprised of companies
and institutions hailing from three continents
(http://www.tinyos.net/scoop/special/working_group_tinyos_2-0).
As previously announced, a primary 2.0 design goal was to maximize TinyOS' platform portability, and this prerelease features support for two additional platforms, MicaZ and TelosB/Tmote, and there are several other platforms under development.
This prerelease also includes support for microcontroller power management (see TEP 112*), and extensive work on ADC support(see TEP 101), and serial communication (see TEP 113).
Installation:
Please see for how to upgrade from a 1.x
environment to a 2.x environment. For convenience, here is an online copy. uprade-tinyos.html also
explains how to maintain 1.x and 2.x trees simultaneously.

*You can find all of the TinyOS 2.0 TEPs (TinyOS Extension Protocols) referenced here linked from the
TinyOS Working Group page (see link above). You can also find the TEPs relevant to PreRelease2
in the tinyos-2.x/doc directory.
