Windows Download and Installation

Instructions for past versions, including a manual TinyOS installation, are below.

TinyOS is installed using Installshield. You can download the TinyOS web distribution here. There is also an Autorun.inf file if you’d like to place both on a auto-running CD.

Because the installation includes installing drivers, you must install as Administrator. If you do not install as Administrator, TinyOS may not work properly.

The following table describes the installation windows that come up in order and what action should be taken on each window. Some windows take a few seconds to come up, so please be patient.
 

Window Description Action Preparing to Install <no action> Enter Text - Download JDK (Web Distribution Only) If you are installing from the Web Distribution, you must download the 1.3 JDK from Sun to avoid copyright infringement. Start and point a browser to the link shown in the window. Follow Sun’s download instructions. When the JDK has downloaded, enter the location of the downloaded file in the textbox and click OK. Start Copying Files Next (There are no Current Settings to check.) Setup Status <no action> Note: the wizard might display 0% for some time. This is normal. Installshield Wizard Complete Finish You’re Done! OK
